Argosy Provides Online Ordering, Reporting and Inventory Solution To Healthcare

Situation:
This client is a worldwide provider of human and animal healthcare products as well
as coatings and chemicals. Due to their extensive product line, this company needed
a web-enabled system to fulfill orders. This client rented a warehouse and hired
a staff of 3 full time employees to fulfill orders. Sales literature and brochures
were warehoused for 125 products. Orders were being placed by both sales staff and
resellers.
Challenge:
The client had a very cumbersome intranet site setup for the sales force to place
orders. The site was confusing and very difficult to use and was only accessible
by sales representatives. Resellers could only place orders by phone and fax. The
client recognized the high cost of this service and struggled with inventory management
problems. The system did not provide detailed usage or inventory reporting. Therefore,
costly manual inventory counts were required.
Solution:
- Our Atlanta based Production/Fulfillment Center and the Argosy Team customized a web-based shopping cart ordering system for the client's 125 marketing products.
- The Argosy Storefront was linked to the existing intranet site and provided secure access to multiple users.
- Argosy streamlined the ordering process, improved turnaround time and provided accurate inventory tracking reports.
- Argosy eliminated manual phone and fax orders which reduced the number of errors and increased usage of the system.
- Argosy's success in this part of the client's business led to the inclusion of the coatings division for the fulfillment of paint chip samples.
